The Classic Motorcycle Club of Natal was founded in April 1981 by a group of passionate Classic Bike enthusiasts. The Club, along with its members, is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, exhibition, maintenance, promotion and use of classic and vintage motorcycles.

The Club organises and promotes competitions, trials and other events in which motorcycles can participate, provided that only motorcycles which have been dated, or submitted for dating by Southern African Veteran and Vintage Association ( SAVVA) may participate.

Highlight of the year is our Natal Classic, a regularity and reliability time trial held in May and covering some three hundred and fifty miles on the quiet roads in the beautiful Drakensberg Mountains. This event attracts competitors from all over the country as well as some from overseas. Given sufficient time the club should be able to provide machines for overseas visitors wishing to participate.

We have a comprehensive library and spares container at our Club premises with an extensive collection of motorcycle related books and magazines.

Meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month from 12:00 onwards at our Clubhouse, We also have a mid-month and end of month social gathering.

The club supports local events where old motorcycles are displayed for example Cars in the Park (Pietermaritzburg in May each year) Scottburgh classic car show (July each year) and the DJ (Durban to Johannesburg time trial – March each year). This event is for motorcycles older than 1936 and had its centenary run on 2013. Contact the club for details on the above.

Informative and entertaining news letters are sent to members on a regular basis. The newsletters also contain a smalls section.
